Key answer

We separate three kinds of price evidence

Official historical averages describe prices paid across the market. Supplier-panel figures describe a particular panel and period. Live quotes apply to one supply. Pages identify which type is being used and do not present one as another.

Calculation and review rules

Annual-cost tools multiply consumption by the unit rate, add 365 days of standing charges and include only fees entered or explicitly stated. Unknown charges remain unknown. Editorial pages link to primary sources where practical and display an evidence date.

Substantive corrections will be recorded. Commercial partners do not receive a different mathematical result in the calculators.

Keyword and page structure

Pages are organised around reader intent. Close variants such as electricity prices, rates and tariffs share one resource where they require the same answer. Separate URLs are used when the task materially changes, such as comparing quotes or evaluating suppliers.
