How this directory is scoped
It covers active brands with a customer-facing business supply proposition, not every wholesale trader, dormant licensee or duplicate group company in the licence register. A licence does not mean a supplier will quote every meter, region or customer size. Availability must be checked directly.
A supplier-comparison scorecard
Price matters, but only after the quote is normalised. Review billing options, account support, complaint routes, credit terms, renewable evidence and the practical switching process.
If a broker recommends a provider, ask about panel coverage and remuneration. A restricted panel can still be useful, but the scope should be disclosed.

Why licensed company counts and supplier counts differ
Ofgem’s registers are the authoritative starting point for licences, but one brand can use several legal companies and some licensees trade energy without offering a normal retail quote to UK businesses. The directory therefore groups recognisable customer-facing propositions and names the relevant legal entities on each profile.
Ownership, products and availability can change. Use the linked primary sources and confirm the contracting company in the principal terms before signing.
